The NetWare 286 Product Family
The table below illustrates the stratification of the current NetWare 286
product line. In an effort to make the table as simple as possible, not all
possible features are listed, only the most common. These features do change
relatively often, so if you feel that one of the listings is not clear or
correct in any manner, please contact me or post a question in the appropriate
forum of NetWire.
Support for ELS NetWare is in NOVA, Section 1 - "ELS NetWare".
Support for Adv/SFT NetWare is in NOVA, Section 3 - "NetWare 2.1x".

Notes:
(1) ELS II v2.15 allows linking of an Appletalk board for LAN B, as
well as a remote, asych driver for LAN B or LAN C. Thus ELS II
can theoretically have 3 LAN drivers.
(2) The maximum of 2.2 gigabytes of disk storage per file server, like
many NetWare 286 maximums is the theoretical maximum. There are many
other factors that will affect this maximum.
(3) VAP = Value Added Process, a program which runs in the NetWare file server
itself using the file servers resources. Many third party programs for
NetWare are implemented as VAPs.
(4) You will need to acquire the necessary boot PROMs to support remote boot
of your workstations, these are not provided by Novell as part of NetWare.
